Senior lecturer, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (NL)
I taught and developed courses on statistics, data analysis, machine learning, and programming, and coordinated research projects for staff and students.
  • ‘15-‘16:
Junior clinical physicist, University Medical Center Groningen, Groningen (NL)
I acquainted myself with management and quality assurance of a hospital department and furthermore consulted patients and studied audiometry and audiology.
  • ‘12-‘15:
Research fellow, University of Nottingham, Nottingham (UK)
I collaborated with partner institutes to optimise and validate methods for biomedical imaging and related advanced data analysis.
  • ‘08-‘12:
Principal investigator, University of Groningen, Groningen (NL)
I developed specific novel data analysis methods to map brain areas based on their activity, and applied these to groups of controls and patients.
  • ‘07-‘08:
Research fellow, Harvard University, Boston (US)
I transitioned from “model-driven” to “data-driven” approaches to extract brain networks from neuroimaging data based on innovative analysis techniques.
  • ‘05-‘07:
Post-doctoral researcher, University of Groningen, Groningen (NL)
I continued my earlier work on traditional auditory  functional MRI and  more independently carried responsibility for the management of a research project.
  • ‘01-‘05:
Ph.D.-student, University of Maastricht, Maastricht (NL)
I learned to use medical imaging techniques and implement large-scale statistical analyses on the resulting data, and supervised student projects..
  • ‘99-‘01:
Researcher / junior patent officer, Océ Technologies, Venlo (NL)
I familiarised myself with research and development in a commercial setting, and followed an introductory legal program on patent law.
  • ‘98-‘99:
Physics teacher, St. Joriscollege, Eindhoven (NL)
